WHY CHANGE FROM AIR TO COIL SPRING?

When you go to choose you new fork or MTB generally the for will either be coil or air sprung, the latter being the more common, this is usually due to the ease of setting up for a vast range of rider weights, adjusting air pressure is quick and simple.

If you are a relative newcommer to MTB this is as far as your thinking will go, the apparent ease of adjustment give you a degree of control over the type of feel you a looking for and there is a small weight saving over a coil fork but there are some parameters you may be over looking.

New Workshop

Its been a long time coming but finally I will be in my new workshop next week.

The 20m2 workshop has all the latest tuning tool and full build area ready for the 2010 team Intense DH bikes, testing starts in January.

A new more powerful dyno is on its way to cope with more fork oriented tuning work capable of 40in per second we also have comfy sofa, a TV area for visitors. Come and have a look.

In September 2007 I shattered my left femur at the last round of the season on a dodgy triple at Hamsterly forest, booh, four operations later it is at last the the same length  and pointing in the right direction, yehee, though quite sore at the moment and needing a shit load of physio I hope to cap some unfinished  business on the BMX track and 4x track, my gates will be stronger than ever see you at the races.

As the pace gathers speed with the DOUBLE BARREL Dave will be running riding days for DB owers and test days for riders that would like to try these marvels of bump force management, its aimed at helping you get a better understanding of the shock and what it can do for you. Riding days at Penmachno North Wales, no teaching just sessioning the fast techy bits and getting the DB set up for different terrain etc. Date will be posted soon.

   

New Website

I hope you like the new look site and our new logo, that had to change, I walked into a supermarket in Slovenia and the same font was used on the cold meat counter. Enough is enough! Thanks to Tony ST Seagrave for putting up with my endless requests and the new logo that he drew freehand.

Stendec is nearly ten years old and its time for a shake up.

After a full on 2009 season working with CRC INTENSE FACTORY RACING testing with the team will begin shortly in Italy at San Romolo with Roberto Varnassa of Argentina MTB park as well as the knarly San Romolo, Pieve de Techo, Pae and San Maxime will give the team a good cross section of training for what will be one of the biggest DH season ever in terms of big hitter courses most of which are 4mins plus.

STENDEC’S GUIDE TO MORE GRIP

Michelin’s development program is alive and healthy, we will be seeing new profiles and sizes in the not to distant future. Stendec will be getting their hands on them ASAP, but for now some guidelines on how to get the most out of that 3x2 inch patch of rubber that contacts the ground.
